I'm about to redo my system, and I like the idea of a flat wall design with the port on the driver's side for maximum spl, like in the image example. My vehicle is quite long, like in a van, etc. I haven't been able to find any working examples of this, but would it be possible to rotate that wall clockwise 90 degrees and mount it against the driver's side wall. The port would then be in nearly the same place, only now firing towards the passenger side instead of forward. Just guessing at the moment, but the box would take up maybe 50% of the cargo space, coming out from the driver's side wall to roughly a center line drawn from behind the front seats to the rear of the vehicle. This would allow for more subwoofers to be mounted than I could fit having the box facing forward. Hopefully this makes sense. Essentially, 50% of the front cabin would be sealed off rather than 100% with the box firing forward. You would be able to open up the passenger rear door and see a wall of subs staring at you. I just want to know if this setup would still deliver similar, or even better, results than facing forward with less subwoofers. Thanks for your input on the matter. I've done plenty of installs, but thought I'd ask around before undertaking something this big.
Joe X Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 The reduction of the cabin size is probably the most important feature of a wall as it results in an increased cabin gain, that's also why you seal off, you want all that pressure in the cabin.
