BigDaveDownUndee Posted September 3, 2024 Report Posted September 3, 2024 Hi all in new to custom systems and especially big systems normally I'm an amp crossover and a sub guy. I had a stroke a few years ago almost killed me, made me think why the heck not build the cars I've always wanted. I'm looking to build a 4 x ds18 exl-xx15.4dhe b pillar wall like the picture, I'm from Australia and so you'll understand the car it's an aussie version of the USA ford police suv.(the picture of the car is the rendering of the build). Any help would be great size port size etc. Powered by a taramps 15k bass dsp alternator and lithium done. I believe the sub specs are as follows 76.89LTS/2.75CF. Hertz I'm unsure I want it loud is all. Bl 19.865 Fs 35.6 R Dual 4 Ω Sd 804.25 Cms 0.027 Mms 410.638 Qes 0.68 Qms 7.098 Qts 0.62 Vas 29.965 Nref Xmax 42 Sensitvity 88
audiofanaticz Posted September 6, 2024 Report Posted September 6, 2024 You really need to get in the car, and gut all the interior from the B pillar backwards and then grab a tape measure and see what you have for room. Without that no one can really give you specs on what to build because we don't know what kind of room you have to work with. Besides that when building a wall you typically build the shell of it as big and strong as possible, once the shell is built you can than worry about measuring its internal dimensions and coming up with a game plan on what and how to build it.

Ive had 5 brain injuries. So simple things like figuring ohms get me and shouldn't. Like im fine dvc 2 ohms down to 1ohm then add second sub the same for 2 ohms. But when comes to parallel to series or series to parallel it confuses the crap outta me something fierce. Granted in the 90s there were just one voice coil at 4 ohms and sometimes 2 ohms but that was it. I did install some subs to my escalade around 2012 after my brain injury and it was so confusing. Now its not so bad for me with things. I built systems in the late 90s early 2000s. From 2004 to recently I didn't do subs just headunit and good door speakers except 2012 in escalade. The rendering is subaru forester not ford police car.
