deca Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 i have a problem with this setup, my amp just cuts off, after running it for awhile. i have to restart the HU and everything would be back on. its driving me crazy, i switched out thye amp to a 750x1 kicker and everything is fine, is something wrong with my amp? i asked a couple of my friends and they said it happened to them before too, is there a solution to this? jmsonoma03 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 what impedence you have it at isnt it a d 1.5 it might be at .75 causing the amp to get hot and shutting off Quote
deca Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 thats what i thought at first, i pulled out the sub and its wired to 3ohm. the amp is rated at 750 at 4ohms and 1500 at 2ohms. so i figure since the sub is at 3ohm, the amp should be pushing out a little under 1100. any idea on how to keep it cool? its not sealed away or anything. Jman08 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 its starting to get alot warmer out and of course you could try to mount you amp somwhere else or even get a fan from radio shack and see if you could see dif results. if your runnin at 3 ohms thats weird for that amp to overheat.
