Best Double Din Head Unit, Expert Recommendations to Choose

I researched the best double din head unit as I wanted something more modern and easier to use with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in my vehicle. My current stereo feels outdated, and I’ve been dealing with poor sound quality and no proper smartphone integration, especially during long drives.

I went through reviews from trusted sources like Amazon customer reviews, Crutchfield, and Car and Driver, and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

However, I am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and I would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some car enthusiasts or people who regularly upgrade their car audio systems on this forum can also share their advice.

You should start describing your system first with some pics, maybe you have a bad installation or bad components.

 

As far as amazon reviews go you will find people who sincerely like and recommend boss head units so not much to gather from those opinions unless they are negative opinions, I always pay attention to those.

 

In my experience I would recommend to get something from pioneer or alpine as expensive as you feel comfortable with for sound quality, watch some function demo videos to see how it all works for the units you are interested in, how responsive, etc.

I have installed both of the radios you have mentioned as well as this Kenwood unit and the Pioneer and Sony don't even come close. The Kenwood is a floating 10" screen, and it is pricey, but damn is it a nice unit. It also has Garmin nav built in so when you don't feel like hooking your phone up for android auto/ apple car play, you are still good to go with nav.
