All Night Long Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I am planning on putting a removable port panel in the port that I have now. All of the boxes I've seen with removable ports have the higher tuned port as the standard port with the lower tuned daily port going inside of that one and attached with a lip on it. Well my question is can put the shorter of the ports that would be tuned higher inside the port that is longer without it trying to use the daily (longer) port as an extension of the removable setup? I didn't figure in port correction when I first built my box and I tuned it too low, so I want to put in a shorter removable piece for comps inside the port that is already there, but I'm afraid that having the shorter port inside the already longer port will affect the frequency that the shorter port will play. Has anyone had any experience with this at all? I guess I can try it and the worse thing that can happen is a little waste of wood. I'm trying to put in a removable piece that is tuned to 40hz opposed to the 35hz port that is already in the car.
All Night Long Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 Anyone got an idea about this? I need to get it figured out because I have a show on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. Please if you got an idea or have any experience with this let me know. Thanks.
jonathancullen89 Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 i would think it would have some sort of effect on it, why not just make a removable port where you can just switch them out for comps or what not. 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
