Guest aseanj52 Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 i was wonderinf if i put a yellow top in the front and a xs power S1200 in the back. does that look good? Can your alternator keep up with additional demand? A new more powerful alt would help more then a weak alt with a second battery.
Kian Posted June 8, 2008 Author Report Posted June 8, 2008 my alt puts out 110 amp's its not good but its not terrible --------------------------------------------------------------- Club 150 (15x.x) Youtube Future Build: 1x 15" T3 TSNS 2x Sundown Audio SAZ3000d Parellel strapped
A&W ROOTBEER Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 getting more batteries only puts more strain on your alt..for the price of 2 good batteries you can get a good alt..i suggest gettign a alt first then see how its doing..but honestly for that amp id suggest a alt around 220-260amps doing about 160 at idle and a power master d3100 in the back and you will be ok..make sure your using 0 gauge wiring has well..

A 1200 would help, but for what you are doing I would go with at least a D5100 in addition to your stock battery. That's alt is a bit overkill.. i have a stock 130 amp alt. stockbatt up front, and a d34 YT in the back running 2kwrms and voltage only drops to the 12's full tilt. Also i read that it is not true that adding an extra batts to your stock alt as long as the batts have a low resistance, which kinitek's,powermasters and batts alike have. 2006 Impala setupkenwood kdc-x789Pioneer 6.5'skicker 850.4pa a3000db @.351 18" BTL
