JustinT Posted May 14, 2009 Author Report Posted May 14, 2009 Well, heres a little update. Got everything hooked up and turned on. Sounded pretty damn loud too. After about 4 days I went and tuned it with an O-scope at a friend of the family's garage. Was even Brutal after that. Then one of the channels on this cheap ass amp starting to put out less and less voltage for some reason. So one was getting regular power and the other getting less over time. Finally the one channel just stopped working...so the other sub was just a passive radiator in my giant ported box. Talk about cancelation. To fix this problem, I rewired the subs to 2 ohm load on the channel that still works. They were wired to 1 ohm each channel. Now they sound alright now with about 300w to each at full tilt. So if any one is planning on getting this amp...don't even think about it. I consider it $800 down the drain. Now, I'm just waiting for my sundown to get so I can put some real power on it again. EricR Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 i like the idea for the speaker wire might have to borrow it from yaz i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
