Can anyone out there help me? I have a 2008 Tahoe with the third row seats removed I have a JL W7 13 inch sub hooked up to a JL 1000/1 mono block and a custom box tuned to the sub. Im trying to figure which way would be best to face the sub? Closer to the back or facing up or Towards the front? I mostly listen to rap. Any help would be appericated.

you want the sub to face the rear of the truck.

Would it be better if the box was closer to the hatch? I have it up against the second row of seats

I have my thrid row of seats out of my tahoe as-well, my box with 3 12's is right up against the second seats facing toward the rear door, sounds perfect. If I put the sub facing up, It seems as I loose some bass feel, and if I face the subs toward the front, it sounds horrible. Hope this helps you some.

I love my staffie :good:

So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

Well the best way for a SUV is sub up port back (towards the rear). But im sure you just have the sub and port facing the same way. Face the sub and port towards the back and put it pretty close to the rear door. I would keep it around 2 inches away, but maybe get some L brackets and brace it to the floor so that it doesnt slam into the door on a tight turn or it you slam your brakes.

Yeah I'd go sub toward the back. Before I had the four 12's I did subs back with just 2 12's it pounded. I think the only thing that it did flipping them up was a lil quiter but not nearly as bad on the vibration. As far as how close I'd experiment listen to some music and move it around. Mines about and inch ot two off the back seat I thought it sounded better plus it gave the amp a lil more ventilation. And deffenitly look for some L-Brackets.
