depending on your comps, they should be fine on their own. I have 1" tweets, 6.5 coax's, and 8" goldwood woofer in my door and I think it sounds great.

But my coax's SUCK at midbass so I neded to add the 8's [cheaper than nice/expensive components lol]

Current Setup:

Factory HU with LOC

mids/highs-Insignia components

Sub- E8 in bass tube

Amp- sae-1200d

Show Setup:

HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony)

fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps

rears- Infinity Kappa coax

mid/high amp - Autotek 5600

Subs - 2 RE SE 15's

Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D

Box - 5cubes sealed

Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0

SECOND SKIN

That is what i used, not great, but super cheap. If i had more money i would have got the daytons

edit:

this is all ran off a set of 3-way diamond audio crossovers. mid, tweet, and rear [unmodified signal] off a 4 channel bridged to two channels [lol gets the job done]

may i ask why you dont want 8's? it would be a good transition between 6.5's and 12's

and these look kinda sexy.

88db efficient, 100w max power handling. it won't keep up with all your mids. that's a sub tho, might not play midbass very well.

it *looks* impressive in terms of huge magnet and surround, especially for $51. good luck fitting that thang in a box up front :o
