  1. oh the heatgun is still a definite must. rolling the needle nose just save the fingers all the work. i have to worry about that kinda thing for when rosie palm and pamela handerson feel like gettin down with a 3some. mighty fine work, mayne.
  2. ^deuces. best way i've found to remove factory carpet/material like that is with long needle nose plyers. once one corner is up, grip that material and roll the needle noses parallel down the panel, it'll roll the material off with it.
  3. ^^side firing ports for the good sounding win. which BTL? this year's or last year's model? rule of thumb with the ports, aim for 7 - 11 sqin of port per cubic foot of box. don't be scurred of the calculations, though. for internal volume, all it is, is length times width times height, then divided by 1728. shazzamn, you've got volume in cuft. Get in the vehicle, take some dimensions, and give us more to work with in terms of "how much room is he willing to give up"
  4. steve benton ftmfw? how'd you manage to rack up a hefty $7k in one short year?
  5. they didn't call them "stiffening capacitors" for nothing..... if by no effect on the trasient response of a sub you mean they won't change the inductance of the coil (le), then agreed. however, if you meant no effect on the transient response of the sub you mean the ability to drop a quick note AFTER the capacitance of the amp has already been taxed beyond it's ability to effectively play that note as it was intended to, disagreed. not saying caps work nor are they a good idea (because i believe they are a waste), however, fact = it takes time for ample voltage to travel the 17' down a power wire from the battery to the amp. The first microsecond the cap actually does work, it works as it is intended. Caps = quick discharge for extremely short period of time. Battery = long lasting discharge. and if by smoothing out voltage spikes and dips (imperfections) you mean filtering out AC Ripple, agreed. ps - "caps or no caps is like asking herpes or no herpes". caps, like herpes = just another bump in the road
  6. take your ass back to CA.com, nubbins! get ahold of phillip j lester and sir sticky buds. you may have one additional person in the car with you and iggy
  7. been a while, but wing chun and choi le foot. since most street brawls end up on the ground within seconds, and form of JJ would be the most practical.
  8. +1 for ---Navi mawfunkin Driver---. Legit seller with more positive references than gay genes (which is a lot).
  9. if you want to know more about Pipo's truck, get in touch with Flemming. He built it.......more than once.
  10. deal. you want me to sprinkle a little crack on them blt's for you, too? serious business -- since you're upgrading, do you want to off the stroker?
  11. i like your old sub. bring it with you to the US and i'll take it off your hands.
  12. there's that thing called "CABIN GAIN".......guess what happens when you have no cabin?
  13. much appreciated. this is an excellent piece, but the new model dvd audio deck. great for 5.1...but not the F#1 i'm looking for.
  14. i've got a ford with over 300k miles  i should dip that thang in bronze and make a lawn ornament out of it.
  15. Welcome to the site. 1/4 wave theory is an old school idea that has been debated, tried, proven many many moons ago. Although, I think some intents were a bit difference than yours..... There is a formula that takes the distance from the mic to the sub and gives you your theoretical peak frequency. At that frequency you're supposed to see a nice spike on the meter. It most definitely worked for some people on the old mics. Call it coincidence or just a fluke, but after being skeptical I did the measurments, crunched some numbers, low and behold, according to the math, my peak theoretical frequency was 64hz. This was in my old car that used to peak at 63 lucky as hell on box placement and pretty damn close if you ask me. There is no other explanation as to how 3 sealed w6 12"s did over a 151 (legal on the old mic) from the trunk. This is a question that will dig some OG heads out of hiding. Register to www.termpro.com, search in the archives and repost this thread. You'll find an abundance of info there. Good luck to you.
  16. what do you mean everything else turned all the way down? not to kick you while you're down, but i hope you learned another valuable lesson in all of this. the GAIN IS NOT A VOLUME KNOB. I would not be surprised if that amp put out full power less than half way up....any more than that = pure clip.
  17. werd. david whipped it up nicely. what songs have you been tinkering with lately?
  18. wait a minute....if i say yar enough, will we get pirate adds, too?
