Forevrbumpn Posted July 8, 2008 Report Share Posted July 8, 2008 simpe way to think of it is, the more the cone moves, the more effecient the cooling process of the woofer motor/coil is small box, and the woofers barly movong, them coil winding gonna get red hot, then snap, or slinky cone moves to far, in and out, and you start getting some rattling or popping noises, gonna have to roll the gain back a tad till mechanical noise goes back down Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". Big Power +big box+ ignorance= tore up spiders, bottoming out the woofer, tinsle lead slap and more. Big Power+ small box + ignorance = burnt coils, slinkied coils, stinky woofers. both will kill a woofer if your not smart. aslong as your smart about it you should be ok. like start smelling the woofers you gotta back off the volume just use common sense and everything should be ok Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
