Box Qustion

Recommended Posts

I've experimented with cardboard tubes for ports. I would cut it to length then drench it in the excess resin i has laying around. Mine was 3" ID and was about 3/8'' thick. it was alright considering i spent no money on that box, just excess building supplies and a 6x8 speaker i had laying around. Was some decent midbass, just not punchy. but I didn't think you were supposed to mix slot ports and circular ports like that? it does look a little weird

Current Setup:

Factory HU with LOC

mids/highs-Insignia components

Sub- E8 in bass tube

Amp- sae-1200d

Show Setup:

HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony)

fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps

rears- Infinity Kappa coax

mid/high amp - Autotek 5600

Subs - 2 RE SE 15's

Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D

Box - 5cubes sealed

Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0

a vet box builder's input would be greatly appreciated.

and for the slot vent ABC box- i never built it for two reasons 1) i didn't/don't have the money to fund it and 2) it would be HEAVY as hell.

the only complaint we had about the aero port ABC was that the high chamber sounded "pingy" and i couldn't seem to figure a way around that- although the low tune was EXPLOSIVE and had the "swimming in bass" effect
