newls1 Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Guys, please help, I getting myself very confused! If you can invision this, im in the middle of wiring up my 02 tahoe, and so far it is like this: I have 2 0ga runs coming off the front batt, running to the rear of the tahoe to connect to the rear batts. However im running short of 0ga, so im hoping this will work: Those 2 0ga runs that i have coming from the front of the truck go into 1 rear batt, and have "1" 0ga run to the other batt. Will this be ok? I will of course make it 2 runs when I have extra cash. ALSO I have a question about grounds. Is the (-) terminal on the batt a ground itself? OR do I need to run a wire from the chassis to the batt for the (-) terminal to be a ground? OR can I just run my 2 runs of 0ga from 1 batt to the other, and then the last batt, run my 2 0ga runns to the front batt? Thanks I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
BackYardSoundZ Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 What you said is fine, the only reason to run 2 is because of the long distance and lost current through the wires, so in the back 1 run is fine to each battery. With the grounds you want them short as possible and if its possible have one for each of your components, if your running out of wire then ya going to your battery is fine.

OK, thanks for the help! Here is what Im doing now as far as grounds go: Each Batt will be grounded to the chassis, and im running 1 0ga ground from one batt to the other, is this still OK?
