ChiTownTBird312 Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 it doesn't matter if the pre fab box is made of mdf or particle board... ITS STILL A DAMN PRE FAB. lol haha true.....i never really got why prefab boxes are soon "bad" i mean if they are made of basicly the same thing you would make them out of yourself, then whats the difference? (still dont mean ima buy one, but curious) and still wondering if that box design is a good one or not? Quote Matt W. 1996 Thunderbird LX Sport 4.6 new system soon...still deciding on what to get.
EricM9104 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 they're usually tuned high and not braced well. Quote 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 110k miles | Stock 1996 GMC Yukon SLT 4dr 4wd | 260k miles | JVC Head-unit
lance_aka_64 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 like emat said they are usually tuned way too high, put together with poor glue and usually very few nails. i have yet to see a pre fab that had screws holding it together. and its just better to make your own because not only is it cheaper but you can make it to fit your needs/subwoofer needs.
