yea, i see people on youtube playing their system as hard as they can with the car off, and their volt meter shows like 10-11v. i dont understand why people do that though... :help:

well whats the biggest amp I could go with before I absolutely have to upgrade my electrical, i mean upgrading my elec. really isnt an option at the moment

I think my alt is a 120, its a stock toyota alt, but someone told me that stock toyota alts are like 120, atleast on the 3.4L V6's

But could I run a smaller amp say a RF 1000.1, safely without an extra battery or HO alt?

it doesn't matter how many watts [ok it does] you try and run, running the stereo with the car off is not a good idea without a battery bank or charging unit of some kind. I don't see any reason to run it with the car off, if you are watching gas that much you prolly shouldn't get a stereo. and if you were some place worried about exhaust fumes, wait till later or get a charging unit. i say you crapped it out cause of voltage, but the video will tell all.

yup Low voltage killed that amp.

build the electrical sysem first, then add power.

Rule to live by in Car Audio

It takes power to make power, no ifs ands or butts about it.

Guess i'm SOL on this one, can't build the electrical, the car isnt in my name, so i guess im stuck with my crappy supposed to be 1000 watt amps, actually pushing out about 250max until I get my truck running again

that power acoustik would have been pretty decent for those subs. at 1 ohm it would have put out 800 rms atleast. and that stock alt will be ok, just be smart and dont run it with the car off

Okay well if I get another PA amp like the one I had, can I run the stock alt (70 amps i looked it up), 1/0 front to back, powermaster battery, and be okay with the engine running? and do the big 3 with 1/0.

I guess i will just have to upgrade if i wanna bump

i'm hoping thats 70 amps at idle, not max. with the ^^^^described electrical and running the same amp with car ON i wouldn't see any problem. and invest in a voltage meter, they can be had for 20 bucks and obviously could have saved this amp. live and learn
