RatBass1998 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 i bought my pioneer deck through em quite awhile ago but i still have warranty for like 1 year but they do not make my model deck any more.... would they let me pay extra and trade mine in or whatever and upgrade to a better pioneer? my deck's volume/joystick control broke off, the little plastic cap and now its just a metal joystick which hurts lol and the deck does not have a good connection from faceplate to deck, you have to tap it and it comes back on what do you think their take on those damages will be.... my fault, no coverage? 15" LMS Ultra AB VFL 200.1 3kw+ rms@ 1 ohm <-- 500.1 in near furture 3.5 cubes at 34 hertz 2 Exide Orbital's 200 Amp EA Alt 125 sq ft BXT
finkster Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 a warranty is a warranty bro Now, they could do 1 of two things...they will either swap for the next best thing, given it doesnt have to be pioneer...If u insist it be pioneer, they will give u cash back...and if the next best pioneer is more xpensive....your outa luck... Tub Asko Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 If you got the city advantage extended warranty, and your model is no longer carried, what they would do is (in store) give you a refund for the amount you payed for the headunit (on a gift card). That way you can take that gift card and whatever extra cash you want and upgrade. Facebook Youtube Murdered '07 Silverado
01xtreme Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Not sure about CC, but @ best buy is you bought a service plan you would be upgraded to the newest model with comparable features and technology. if it is the same price, or cheaper you are good, if it is more expensive you pay the difference. That being said if you did not buy the service plan you are on your own. The problems you are having are results of normal wear and tear. The factory warranty doesn't cover normal wear and tear 9 times out of 10. Most factory warranties only cover factory defects. Basically the unit has to be looked up in the computer, it will tell them if it needs to be sent out to CC techs to be fixed or if they give you instore credit. I guess that's just how we operated idk Subwoofers and speakers are the only thing that were a direct swapout, and I really don't really feel like arguing with you. I worked for two different circuit citys... store 3630 and 3631 both as an INSTALLER the whole time. In both Cd players were almost 100% sent out to service to see if they can be repaired, don't believe me? call up a circuit city and ask them. I don't know how "you" can operate like that when the computer tells if it needs to be sent out or not. -Installer for Duke's Car Stereo 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix - Ported Eaton M90 S/C, 3.5" pulley, XS Power Headers, 1.9 Rockers, FWI, Poly Motor Mounts, Custom Tune.
