Enclosure Question

Hey, I was attempting to make my first box and I was just wondering what some good materials are to line the inside of your enclosure to dampen the sound.

if your going with a sealed box, put some Polyfill in it. Ported...i dont know

sealed it is.. what do u guys usually do, glue it to the back wall?

nope its like a cotton looking material. You just put it in the box some people fill half the box some do all of the box. I guess add some and take some out till ya get it to sound how you want.

Dont do that too much youll end up with a bunch of holes in the the front plate. Im not to familiar with the stuff but Im sure you could research a little bit about how much to use

If you need to use polyfil then you have 2 options. If you're going sealed, then using just the bag of it and stuffing is fine, but if you're going ported you should get the polyfil sheets and glue them to the inside walls.

All depends on if you're going to need it or not.

yea i'm going with the sealed so i'll probably hit up wal mart and grab some polyfill tomorrow and see whats good. Another thing I was wondering was, what other type of things have people tried using for the outside of the box, other than carpet thats good.
