well my car has been acting up and it will not ideal on its own i got a new carb and that didnt help me any and i also did a lil work on the ing. and it didnt help eather lol any ideas?

when your car is running do you smell gas from the exhaust

well yes i smll gas a lil bit and it smokes a lil bit but i  have straight pipes so it dose that anyway

Quadrajets are the biggest pain in the ass carb ever made. Was it the factory one that came with the car and you just had it rebuilt??? Or did you get it from another car with a different motor??? If it's from a different motor, I can almost guarentee you it's too big and it's running too rich. That's why it won't idle correctly and you smell gas coming out the pipes.
