Well i just competed in my first SPL competition and to say the least i am dissappointed with my score and the fact that i got last. I hit a 141.5 with my current box tuned at 30 Hz in the 0-600w class. So i began my next project with a goal of hitting 145. The box is gonna be 4 cuft with a tuning frequency somewhere between 43-55 Hz. Anyway heres some pics of it so far. Tell me what ya think and an idea you would of done. Also i plan on adding some type of sound damping material. What kind of gain in could i get from adding sound dampening material?

could gain some dB's from dampening, could lose some dB's from deadening.

Most people lose a little bit when they dampen the car, it can be made up thou, you just have to retune everything.

the dampning will change the res frequency of the car, so you will have to change stuff up to get it back, but seeing how your rebuilding any way, dampen the bish up good.

the deadening will just raise the resonant frequency of the vehicle which is usually your peak note.

from my experience, it lowers the resonant freq.

every car is differnt tho
