Jextel
18" = expensive. Like the first post said, I'm looking @ $1500 max. I'm also needing space for luggage, I'm thinking, 25"x30"x20" box to keep some space for luggage. I'm thinkin' maybe 2 15's, or 3 12's ported of course. I'm just curious as to what equip I should use. I'm hoping Kicker or RF, or even a couple Fi Q's. but I'm open to suggestions 7.1cuft.. not bad with that type of space im only seeing you having 2 12's 4 10's 3 12's but you are on a budget of 1500 right? if i was in your shoes i would do 1 15 prolly the hdc3 on a 2k-3k amp prolly the gp3000d pro then use the rest for a battery for under the hood and do the big 3... Brick2560
What I'm looking at myself is a Rockford 2000.1 amp. ($800) still undecided about subs, if you think 1 15" would work how does a DC sound? I'm thinking I could do 2 12's as well, just need to find 12's that could handle that type of power. any idea's? Or I just thought of something, the 2000.1 powering 1 BTL 18", or even a 15" considering it still puts out 2000rms. I'd def. have enough room, for ported 18" I need 5-7 cuft. for the 15" I'd need 3-5. If I got the 18" I'd be @ $1200, and then how much would it cost for the batt. and alt? RamenNoodles
Why the t2000 when your budget is that low? Great amp dont get me wrong but why? There are so many other choices that will help you save money to put to a batter or wiring or box materials for example Quote Diablo Audio Technologies Fi Car Audio Ascendant Audio
Forevrbumpn
51"x51" is way exagerated I have a 98 Dodge Intrepid, almost identicle car/trunk Trunk IS deep, I can lay down in it, BUT- Useable space where you can actually slide a box in and out is different where you would put the box is more likely in the little tunnel area behind the seats which is I think 39"wx14tx18 deep BUILT IN If you go with a box about 38x13x16, you can slide the box in thru the seats, but if you fiberglass the box, you will have alot more room The trunk just LOOKS HUGE Edited July 29, 2008 by Forevrbumpn Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. EricR
you can get a T2k refurb authorized on high desert audio ebay store for about 600 shipped. and if your only running a T2k i would upgrade the alt with a replacement battery under the hood and thats good enough. Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? David
L x w x h =??? then divide it by 1728 and you will get your cubic feet. 12 x 12 x 12 = 1728 / by 1728 = 1cube
