jayjay6888 Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Ok I know that systems are loader when car is sealed up but ive noticed something with my system lately... with the window down even the slightest bit lows arent as deep as they are with the windows up... i have a prefab box for 2 12's its pretty damn big(maybe a little to big) and it has a slot port down the center... could my tuning be off for the subs b/c i know that prefab boxes are usually tuned high and i know that mine is tuned high just not how high because the lows in "White Girl" just roll off and i can hear them but not feel them..... if measurement help i can get some or can you direct me in the direction of a formula to calculate box volume and tuning Thanks Quote 1 Fi Sp4 18 Crescendo 2k selenium mids audioque supertweets Hifonics for mids and and highs 1/0 power and grounds ---> on the way singer alt and possibly another 2k depending how sub likes 1 2k

IH8PunkRok Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 i actually thought that cars are louder wit the windows down or the door open. mines that way u should consider making a new box just to see how it worx. if u want lows tune to about 30-32 hz. imo im about to leave but later if u havent got a design ill draw u up one. Forevrbumpn Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 need pics, dimensions, sub type/model and usually on lower tuned boxes, the bass seems louder when you roll down one window a little bit, bit it depends which window (based on box design/firing location) alot of the people here with music they get louder by adjusting windows or slowly opening, closing a door to find that magic number Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

IH8PunkRok Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 so i took the dimesions u gave me and plugged it into my calc. and it seems that box is tuned to about 45 hz thats not so good for music im makin a design right now just guessin cuz the site gives me no details at all. 2 cubes per sub bout 58 sq inches of port tuned to 32 hz. should have alot more emphasis on the lows. want me to draw it up?
