ARMYSGT_D Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 when my subs are hooked up to power they make a sound like a tv makes when the cable is unplugged or goes out that loud scratchy sound i hooked multiple rca up to them but they nake the same sound when hooked up to my mids and high amps they are fine does this sound like blown subs or amps they are 2 15 ssd whith a rf t1k on each at 2 ohms i think i was clipping the hell out of the signal current set-up kenwood ddx 712 clarion eq focal 165 k2p front focal 165v2 rear 2 re audio sexxx 12 us amps md3d us amps md42 1 optima yellow top (rear) 1 xs power 5100r (front) big 3 and 1 run 1/0 stinger wire my build my rebuild

Ouch yeah Id say you have a little problem... plug your mid rca to the sub output of your deck NOT TOO LOUD! and see if maybe its your output on the deck and then plug sub amp to a spare speaker not too loud again and see if it still does it that will tell where the problem is coming from hopefully. David Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 yeah that would be my guess Slinkied coils. put your DMM on your speaker leads and see what it says, of it has some outragouse number they are TOAST
