doughboi916 Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 how would 2 10in BL's sound in a ported enclosure that is only 1.5 cubes?? bad idea? i was told if the box is smaller the woofer will have better power handling because it will think its in a sealed box? but im thinking 1.5 cubes is way small for 2 10s? i already had the equipment laying around and 1.5 cubes is all i have to work with??

Ported box: .5-1.2 cuft @ 30-37Hz That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.
Boon Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 1.5 cubes will be ok but you'll need lots and lots of power to get the cones moving enough to keep the coils cool. It's leaning a lot more towards an SPL type application. Tuning it to something sensible might be hard. 10.x volts fo' life!
