ChevyBoy Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Thanks for the responses guys. I wasn't too happy when I opened the box and saw the birthsheet to say the least. Thought I had some fucked up POS. But I'm still going to return it where I bought it and try to pick out one thats more of a beast at 1 ohm, since thats the load I will be putting on it. I'm hoping to get one that's about 2600-2800 rms.did you not read the thread that they linked? if they cant put a bigger load on that amp at 1 ohm, what would make you think that another t2k would be THAT much different?

philip Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 my birth sheet is the same way. i wanna run one fi 12 btl to each. i have an 18 and a 12 both at dual 2 ohm. i was gonna recone the 18 down to a 12 d2. after reading this and looking at my birthsheet i'm wondering if i should get dual 1 coils and recone both of them or get dual 2 coils. what do you guys think?

lowblueranger Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 I've run both the JL 1000/1@4ohms and the T20001 @4 ohms and the Rockford was way louder. I don't think you have the amp hooked up right-maybe need to adjust the gain(down) and/or turn up the bass knob. Try wiring that amp at 1ohm on the same set up and then see if the JL sounds louder! If your looking for 3000 watts buy a T30001 or even a T40001. It sounds to me like you got a great amp. Why would a piece of paper telling you it does this or that make you happier with your purchase? I agree with sactownstang you'd never be able to tell the difference. philip Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 why would you recone to dual 1? keep them dual 2 and hook each one up to each amp. so i could run one to each at 2 ohms instead of 1 ohm. you're right though i should just recone the 18 to a 12 d2 and call it a day.
