Chevyboy, I'm guessing your drive connects to your computer via USB. Have you tried connecting a completely different drive to your computer and see if it does the same thing? External Hard Drive maybe?

Just trying to isolate the problem.

i was thinking on getting that one. any good?

anyway, my buddy told me that its cause i have an amd processor that they "overload" the front side buses on them. i just dont know why it wont stop making noise AFTER i disconnect it. shit, its not even connected now and its doing it. i need help quick....

Chevyboy, that hard-drive looks like a good deal. Good brand too.

As for your fan, that really baffles me. I also have AMD, but never seen anything like this.

But don't worry, I'll help you isolate the problem.
