The Big Oki Posted August 23, 2008 Report Share Posted August 23, 2008 HI there, as my windshield is staying alive so far, I went to this event at a big Disco over here in "Kassel". ACR put on a few demo cars and I was one of them. During the evening I parked at the "Beergarden" of the place open air and played the car for about 3 hours. Almost with 1/4 of the available power, what is very loud when you stand beside it the whole time. One Zapco 9.0 was connected to PA tops for mids and highs. It was a success and some people rather stayed outside at my car than inside the disco club At about 0:30 in the morning / night, I went inside and gave two songs for demo. Also with the PA Tops. Estimated 2000 people were in there and felt the noise, but good and clear sound. I played Beastie Boys Intergalactic and then BME Click (what is boring after 2 Minutes, thats what I found out.) But for the show and some girls it was ok. Funny thing is that the PA of the club reaches 95 dB with 32 15" and 24K Watts. I reached 96 dB with my car I have to explain that its is a special dB(A) weighted and time based measurement to keep sound laws in clubs. While I was outside, people around the club COMPLAINED the first time after 7 years of the existance of this club! They called the police but they couldnt find where it comes from Half a mile away there was a "Cafe Del Sol" what hat rattling glasses on their shelves. (sometimes they overdo it a little bit). They should rename it in "Cafe Del Bass".... So, that was the little story. I enjoy that much more than going to most of the boring, low attendance competitions. Good times are over and just a few shows a year are worth the drive. Good thing is that there are always possibilities to get attention and have fun. Just find them. That counts for Germany as well for the States or any other country. Will put up some pics. Ultra Low songs like Planet Bass are shaking the building so much that over 40 Barchairs fell off the tables in 2 stories. But it was not really audible so I decided to play higher note songs like Intergalactic. That was a good choice bc people startet to dance around the car And they thought the PA of the club was playing, until the DJ explained that it comes ALL out of my car ! Lil Johns BME Click was interesting for a few seconds, but all the time the same frequencies are not what the people liked. I have to find out what works. And then lots of vids to edit in the wintertime... Masseik was ok yesterday. No rush, no hurry. Just the driving to that place was horrible. 35km of little streets and bumps and angles.
