superduper
i was wondering if an amplifier draws power from the volts on the battery or the amps? Because I have this hi-tech battery tester that tells me how many cca i have on my battery.
Stephen
Voltage moves current. If your amp is putting a load higher than the battery can support the voltage will start to fall. you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. Eskii
Amps is how many electrons are flowing, volts is how fast they are flowing. An amplifier will draw both, cause that's electrical physics! (Volts x Amps = Power) It draws more amps, coz the batteries aren't high voltage, and still need to provide enough power for the amplifier. eg. 1000W amp is 50% efficient, so it needs 2000W from the elects at full volume. (2000/13.25) = How many amps you need on tap. Your batts will be anywhere around 12.5-14 when you're bumping, but the amperage draw will depend on how hard you are pushing your amplifier. Enough of the lesson... Yeh your meter will tell you how many amps are left in your battery, but won't show how many amps your amplifier is drawing (need anoter meter for that). Best way to work out your draw is with pen, paper and ya amp specs! -Eskii Previous: 1988 Nissan Patrol Rockford T800.4 Rockford T1 15 (sealed) Rockford 6.5 Components Current: 1997 Jeep Wrangler Build goals... 1x RF P300.2 4x Hertz HCX165's Built Completes Alpine 9886 Headunit RF P300.2 RF P500-1bd 2x RF P2-D2 8" Subs, 1.3 cubes @39.5Hz 4x Hertz HCX130's Current comment...
