It looks cool. But it doesnt look cool coming at you or following behind you while your driving. That shit glares to much, you can see it in the 2nd pic....looks like the camera was over the top of the roof and you could still see an awful glare. They arent as blue as they appear in the picture. The isnt any glare. I just saw this truck this saturday night and it is fine. I just dont like when someone says shit about someone elses ride in a derogatory way. I'm not gonna sit here and say I have any/all the answers but as audiofanatic and W87will have done (Nice job thus far fellas) I will drop in and share some of my experiences with Retro fitting (putting projectors and HID bulbs in a car that never came with them), and add on HID "kits" that consist of Real HID bulbs and ballasts, although not "high end brand", mounted into stock headlamp housings. I recently put a Xentec (cheapo, but tested and seemingly 1yr+reliable) kit in my Integra behind the stock projectors. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=30146 I have a nice clean "cutoff line" just like in w87will's pic of his halogens on his fence...the PROJECTOR mounted inside the housing is what is needed to achive that and NOT blind on coming traffic, people on your sides but slightly ahead, AND get you PULLED BY THE POLICE. Also, on the color issue...there's waaaay too much "this color IS and that color rating IS..." going around.... THIS totally depends on BRAND. Phillips/Hella/PIAA/etc vary by "how name brand" they are and as you stray from those^^^ Name brands, the color can actually be skewed quite a bit in either direction based on how "no-name" the company. But-"in general" 8000k-10000k is the most blue....anything higher goes to a purplish and the FURTHER that direction you go past about 6000k, the less light you get but the more color. The same is true of the other direction of the color spectrum, most folks say 6000k is the most "pure white", but thea also the lower the ####k the BRIGHTER it will look. Those lower ###'s than 6000k will go yellowish and if you want a certain color go woth what you want...but keep in mind, if it doesn't look "stock" or close to it the Police can give u a shitty time, and it varies what they can actually do-some say you have to have it inspected by a REFEREE that "knows" what legal and what's not, some will actually look at the cut line in the dark and do the proper measuring and say you can lower them or if ur car is low enough whithout being "too low" it CAN work....but It's a gamble. Before I did anything more than swap out the stock bulbs to after market ones... and I have used quite a few (Silvania cool blue, silvania silver star, silver star ultra, HELLA xenon Blue, PIAA xenon blue, HALO xenon blue, and a set that everything on them was written in japanese that I got in J town in SF) and they were all just "tinted blue halogens" in which they start out blueish, and fade to normal/orangish/ whiteish...if ur lucky. A while back..maybe almost a year ago now, I was asked by the guy with the LexusSC300 that I built (DzLxsik) to retro out his stock housings using "the best" PROJECTORS (I am told) from a newer Acura TSX. The TSX projectors are pretty easy to work with since they are actually pretty small themselves so you have more "wiggle room" inside the stock housing of w/e vehicle you're working on. I have prolly a billion pics of the retro-fit work I did on them but I didn't see much interest in Lighting at that time so I never posted them. If there's gonna be a surge of interest in this, I can post that retrofit in the fabrication section...I just got get the OK from Mr. Lexus since it was work I did for a "customer".
