audioman21
I have a Powermaster d1200 in the trunk. One run of positive and one run of negative from front yellow top. I have all my amps grounded to the back battery. My question is, does it matter if the amps are grounded to the battery or the chassis? With the way it is now the two sub amps are getting rather warm and the highs amp is getting hot as hell causing it to go into protect. I have a five volt deck and the signal is unclipped, gain is only 1/3 of the way up.

automediapro
Do you have a DMM? What is the voltage at the amplifiers during high or normal play?
MECHMAN
Ground the batts and the amps all to the same point on the chassis. Make sure you use a large diameter bolt with a nut on the back, and that the grounding point is thick, i.e. the sub frame. 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
RamenNoodles
Make sure to sand away all paint around the bolt so that it is a solid connection to the bolt. Diablo Audio Technologies Fi Car Audio Ascendant Audio
