bumassjeff
Soooo i have a kicker Zx2500.1 and ive had it for a couple months now and just as of last week the amp just stopping putting out any power. I thought it was my sub that was blown cuz it sounded bad but it was just the amp not putting power out...i checked it with a volt meter. Ive e-mailed kicker but i hate waiting for their responces so i was hoping i could just get a quick answer on here as to whats wrong with the amp. Amp was getting good power and it def didnt go up in smoke the board looks fine on it and i didnt smell anything when it stopped putting power out. It still turns on too. Hopefully someone can toss me an answer and if its fixable. THANKS! Edited September 10, 2008 by bumassjeff
ChevyBoy
if you pulled the casing off, most likely kicker wont fix it. that just voided your warranty right there if you had one. have you tried switchin the amp out with another one to see if it was the wiring maybe? bumassjeff
Eh there wasnt a warranty on it and no i havent tried another amp no one else i know has an amp that will accept 0/1 gauge =( but i dont see how it would be the wiring i made sure the wiring was getting power and the amp still turns on i tested it with a volt meter and it only outputs around 20 Ac volts and nothing higher. EricM9104
Why not just use a wire reducer to test another amp? If another amp works fine in there, the output section of the amp is probably fucked. What kind of electrical system do you have? bumassjeff
I suppose ill have to try the wire reducer thing as for electical i had stock alt and Hc1400 up front and 2 Hc 800s in the back had a volt meter to them so i would make sure i wouldnt go anywhere under 12v and gains were maybe a quarter of the way up. And no this amp has never gone into protect. Edited September 11, 2008 by bumassjeff
