marquettefan247
I am getting two 15inch ma audio 1500 xl subs. what amp should I use to maximize loudness. They are 1200 watt peak each and 600 watts rms each. I dont want my lights to dim so a capacitor would help. sdrawkcaB
People here will tell you to get a battery instead of capacitors, but I have a capacitor because I have a small system. I'm only running 1200 watts... But they say get 1Farad per every 1000 watts you have. I have a Rockford Fosgate digital capacitor and it tells me my voltage at the amps and it hasn't failed me yet. As for amps, what Bassick posted above are all very good. Just make sure they do 1200 watts at the ohm load you want. marquettefan247
what are ohms m kida new to this stuffthe subs get 4 ohms each so what do I get Quote 1995 Ford Mustang 3.8l V6 5 Speed Plans: 2 12 inch dc Level 4s DC 2.0k Amp KCA 1/0 Power Amplifier Installation Kit 220 Amp Alt XS Power 12V D925 AGM Battery Stinger Volt Gauge Rockford Fosgate RCAs Box built from birch. sdrawkcaB
what are ohms m kida new to this stuffthe subs get 4 ohms each so what do I get If you have 2 subs, and the subs are "4 ohms each", and each sub has "dual voice coils," Then you can wire the subs down to 1 ohm to get the most power out of you amp. BUT you must make sure your amp is one ohm stable, or you could fry the amp. You can also wire the subs to 4 ohms, but like I said above, you need a sub that can handle at least a 4 ohm load if you go this way. But usually you won't get as much power at 4 ohms as you would at 1 ohm. (The things in italics, you can tell if your subs are this type just by looking at their description on the box they came in) Quote Custom 1977 Chevy Nova Show Car: (1) Kenwood KDC-MP638U Head Unit (10) Sony 3" in the dash (2) Rockford Fosgate P3 12" P3D412 (1) Rockford Fosgate P1000.1bd @ 1ohm (1) Rockford Fosgate PEQ Bass Remote (1) Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Digital Capacitor RFC1D All Rockford Fosgate 4AWG Power/Ground wire Under construction: (2) Rockford Fosgate P162C 6.0" 2-Way Full-Range Speakers up front (2) Rockford Fosgate P1694C 6"x9" 4-Way Full-Range Speakers in the back EVERYTHING hidden to maintain authentic look
