  2. I may only have 2 12"s on 1200 watts but it 'aint stock and its CUSTOM! lol
  3. Do we get car-stickers if we're on the team? I'd roll in my whip wearin' the team SMD logo for sure. I wanna represent team SMD in OHIO!! lol
  4. To the ford/chevy argument.... Well I have a Ford Mustang AND a Chevy Nova.... they both smoke people in the lane allll daaaay... So I can take both sides of that argument AND back it up. Someone said check the mass airflow sensor: after I upgraded the throttle body and added a cold air intake to my 05Mustang, I had sort of the same problem... I just made sure things were tight, and one of the thigs I took out/cleaned was that sensor... Maybe it got a tad dirty or was a little loose or crooked after changing the cold air intake but Lo and behold it was running normal after that.
  5. I hear it's even more dangerous for the people who throw themselves out there to stop the bikes from rolling back down. Check this one out, its one of the longest hill climb courses ever. I'm not sure if they still have the champoinships here or not...
  6. If you have 2 subs, and the subs are "4 ohms each", and each sub has "dual voice coils," Then you can wire the subs down to 1 ohm to get the most power out of you amp. BUT you must make sure your amp is one ohm stable, or you could fry the amp. You can also wire the subs to 4 ohms, but like I said above, you need a sub that can handle at least a 4 ohm load if you go this way. But usually you won't get as much power at 4 ohms as you would at 1 ohm. (The things in italics, you can tell if your subs are this type just by looking at their description on the box they came in)
  7. People here will tell you to get a battery instead of capacitors, but I have a capacitor because I have a small system. I'm only running 1200 watts... But they say get 1Farad per every 1000 watts you have. I have a Rockford Fosgate digital capacitor and it tells me my voltage at the amps and it hasn't failed me yet. As for amps, what Bassick posted above are all very good. Just make sure they do 1200 watts at the ohm load you want.
  8. Man, I've been having shitty luck lately too, but not as bad as you. I spent all this week building and painting a custom box and come to find out I cant fit in in my car (measured inside trunk deminisions, forgot to consider the trunk opening) and I scratched things up trying to force it in... and then on the way back to college, still mad from my box not fitting, after this nasty wind storm, I'm driving home at 9:30pm, and a car comes at me with its brights, and before I knew it, I smashed my 4 week old Mustang into a huge ass log/tree branches that fell onto the road from the wind at 65 mph. I couldn't see what was in front of me because that dumbass wouldnt stop blinding me with his brights. Now I have a VERY scratched up front bumper/side/hood on my BRAND NEW black Mustang... That bunch of branches/log was taller than my car laying on the road. [sorry for thread jack] But just keep looking up man, it seems like a lot of people here are having bad luck lately. Things will get better in time, good things will make up for the bad, and before you know it, you'll be thinking "Hell yeah, things are finally going my way!" Its times like these that make you appreciate the good times, and help you prepare for the bad later on.
  9. wtf is it? a turtle waitin to get on a bus in 14 minutes? is something amazing supposed to happen???
  10. So if I read correctly, at one ohm mono, they will put out about 1200 watts RMS? And the bass remote is included? And for the pre-order price, they are comparable (and cheaper) to some Rockford models... I just got my jury duty check, I might have to snag two.
  11. I've been looking for a way to hardwire my ipod into my '05 mustang without having to use an FM transmitter.... but this seems to be a bit above what I want to pay if there are other routes. (what those routes are, I'm not sure yet... lol) And I have a factory head unit, the shaker 500 6-disk system....
