doubleD Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 got 4- 18" treo ssi subs in 16 cubic foot box with 200 square inch port. 2000 watts on the subs and the back hatch of my 2001 yukon realy flexes nd so does all the windows and dash. but windows down i just dont get the air movement i want. is this a wattage issue or box design issue. it was all put together by boomers audio in tulsa OK, they say the box is tuned to 34 htz

assman Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 I'd say its a little of both,box design and power issue.The more power the more the subs move.The more the subs move the more air that moves.With the box being so far from the windows it wount move as much air when the windows are down.Need to wall that mofo and add another 2000 watts atleast. Doubling the power should put you +3dbs theoretically Plus maybe a smaller box with the extra power... Ask around and find out how much power people are putting into these subs, i don't have any experience with 'em.
