aznboi3644
if you exceede the 1:8 ratio by much it makes port noise pretty pronounced, and with some setups the air can get over the speed of sound and make some funky shit happen.some kid at a car show had a port so tight it almost sounded like it whistled, it was so weird sorry bub but i HIGHLY doubt port velocity can exceed the speed of sound...that would be MACH 1. Which would basically create a sonic boom...which is impossible.
V1G1LANT3
why.... again what are your max dimensions and i could figure something out Oh sorry um. Well it's a fiberglass box. But the rough shape is 36"wide x 14"deep x 17" high. But I don't want the ports to stick way out, that's why I wouldn't be able to do the 48sqin port. Which would be 24" long. raytard
my bad aznboi, you're right on that one the air APPROACHES the speed of sound and creates audible noise, something like past mach .1 you get noise, i got my decimal point messed up my bad Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

But since it is fiberglass there is more room to make it bigger, I just dont want it taking up my whole cargo area.
BigPimpin91
Instead of making a new thread I will as here. I have a box designed but the port area is only 11.7 Sq A cube instead of the minimum 12. How much at a loss will I be with the .3 a cube gone?
