This box is for a 2006 kicker L7 15" 2ohm. Amp: kx1200.1 - around 1350w I believe from the birthsheet

4 ft^3

33hz - not sure if this is good, I just heard I should do between 30-35hz

First I tried 2 3x6" ports and they came out entirely too long for the space I want to keep it within after a change in things in my trunk. I just played around with the carstereo.com port calculator until I came up with something I thought I could work with and thought about a single 14x2" would work good but is that too skinny. All edges will be rounded.

if you exceede the 1:8 ratio by much it makes port noise pretty pronounced, and with some setups the air can get over the speed of sound and make some funky shit happen.

some kid at a car show had a port so tight it almost sounded like it whistled, it was so weird

Hey decaf, why shouldn't you exceed a 1:8 port ratio? Wanting to know so I don't make any mistakes designing my brothers box.

more likely to have port noise/increase port velocity... think of it as the whistle effect

yup chuff, whistle, woof, huff it makes all those weird sounds
