  7. I would think a x-pipe would make it louder because it is more straight through and not having the sound waves bounce everywhere. Get rid of all the mufflers/resonators will make it louder but probably wont be the sound you want..and removing the cats will help but I'm not much for that myself.
  8. Not sure how this will work on a car..but a guy I know works on very old tractors. He has one that was mainly rusted together and poured white vinegar down the cylinder and let it soak for a couple days. Use a breaker bar until it starts moving..make sure it is all drained out and pour it back up with oil. You will most likely need to prime it with oil before you try to start it.
  9. The fan will always be on. Turn on your a/c and see if you can hear a difference in fan speed.
  10. ^this is why it's flashing. The $1000 may be for a oem replacement catalytic converter(CC) which is the whole mid pipe and the labor to fix whatever is causing the issue. Raw gas in the CC will screw it up and clog it.
  11. Forgot that he really don't have to worry about the boot in this case..he's replacing it anyways.
  12. I wouldn't use a pickle fork to loosen it because they almost always tear the grease boot. Smack the tie rod end or knuckle with a big hammer and it should pop loose while being careful to stay clear of the boot. Before I loosen the nut I put white out on the threads so I put it about the same spot when you put the new one on. LIke he said, loosen nut or sleeve and the end should just screw off.
