Gearstix Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 (edited) The higher the number, the thicker the oil. 10W30 is thicker that 5W30. Can't remember what the Wxx means... We use 0W30 in the winter. I use 10W30 in my go kart because it runs full tilt alot. at work we used 10W30 in a old Honda van with alot of miles.
