jonnylowkon
i see this thread blowing up quick..lol ohhhh shit here we go ....all i have experince with is mechman alts an i have a dyno sheet from him stating 156amps at idle and 254 at 2000rpm(on the rotor)... an from what my amp clamp and DMM states while slowly crankin up on the carbon pile load tester those numbers were slightly under rated from what i seen..liek mechman says he wont ship any alternator unless it puts out(unlike some woman) ANYWAYS .. im more than happy ... just wish he made multi alternator brackets.. ~digital~bass~
not always, alot of HO alts dont put out much power at idle but give out insane current at a higher rpm 99% of the ppl on this forum go for daily so thats what matters for most of us. Or are you going to not stop and driving around holding 2k+ lol. Quote Car Audio + Bodyboarding/Longboarding = LIFE!!!
Andrew2944r
Are there more test results? =] More companies? Mechman? Powermaster? Nope these are just the two alternators that I personally own and use... Didnt make the post to cause no drama just some realistic tests done for everyones info. Neither one of the Alts are that great imo after cracking the shells on them and seeing nothing but rice fall out of them, but this day and age go figure on the cheaper parts. littleitaly1990
did you have you amps and subs on when you did the tests? Alts only put out what they need to so if in testing you weren't pulling a lot of amps, it will show up as less. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath. Big Kman
That does make perfect sense. He probably didn't run it with a system hooked up.... jonnylowkon
im pretty sure he said he tested them on a dyno ... which has some from of a carbon pile load device on them that can test full output of alternators..
