Carputer In An Amp? Dr.frankenstein(started The Carputer)

Recommended Posts

What I might be doing is put a small pc setup in a center console and have the video card feed into a myron davis monitor in the dash. Alot easier imo than rebuilding a laptop..

As for the hard drive.. hmm. I wonder if you could do some sort of compact flash conversion as they shouldn't skip, however there pricey.

you wouldn't really be able to shrink the size of a laptop as it's footprint is dictated by the size of it's motherboard pretty much already. You would only be able to save the space of removing the frame. Which is why most people use mini-ITX boards for carputers, it has a much smaller footprint.

As far as hard drive vibration, using a laptop harddrive would work best due to its anti-shock capabilities.

For monitors, I have heard alot of good things about lilliput touchscreens - http://www.lilliputweb.net/ Could probably find one on e-bay.
