Gearstix Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 yeah its messy. But is this how I'd do a multiple battery setup on my truck? I was just playing around with the idea of two BXi-2008s. 2005 Blazer Build... Mach 5 SPL-12s, Audiopipe AP3000.1D..
Stephen Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 I heard that its better to pull postive from 1 side of the battery bank and negative from the other side so they charge/discharge evenly. but everything else looks ok besides fuses. are the amps strappable? you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. DC POWER

Hell I dunno if there strapable. If not I can use the Maxxlink. I don't know if I'll be using 4 50ah batteries or one big one. I forgot to add fuses in . 2005 Blazer Build... audiofanaticz Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 That looks good. Only thing Id suggust differently is. run your positive from your front battry to the first batteryon the rear back, then for the negative from the front battery to the ground on the last rear battery of the bank. This way your getting a better flow of juice and possably a better charge. Also run your amps off the middle 2 batteries. and then still ground the rear batteries to the body. Altered image:
audiofanaticz Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Those amps are also not strappable unless you use a maxx link i believe. But when strapping amps together, the master or first amp that has the rca signal from the headunit uses only the positive speaker connection to the speakers. Then from master amp, to salve amp you would bridge the negative speaker terminals together on both amps. Then on the slave amp, you would use the positive speaker outputs for your negative wires on your subs. Your going to want to series each voice coil together making each speaker running at 4 ohms. Then go and wire both speakers together in parallel dropping the impedance down to 2 ohms. When strapping two(2) 1 ohm stable monoblock amps together, the min stable ohm doubles. Examples: two 1 ohm stable mono amps strapped together can only be played at 2 ohm load min, each amp will still see a 1 ohm impedance. two 2 ohm stable mono amps strapped together can only be played at 4 ohm load min, again each amp will see a 2 ohm impedance. Now two 1 ohm stable mono amps strapped togeter with a 1 ohm load will make each amp see a .5 ohm impedance. Wiring as follows if amps are strappable, or with maxx-link.
Gearstix Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 Lol I forgot I had posted this here too. Thanks for your help guys.. I'm not sure if I will be using the Hifonics amps.. might be half the batteries too. we'll see; 2005 Blazer Build... Mach 5 SPL-12s, Audiopipe AP3000.1D..
