Wiring Subs Ina Dual Chambered Box

I am building my box tomorrow and its going to essentially be two boxes next to each other. The subs are d2 ohms and 2 in each box. I can't wire all four subs to each other so how would I go about wiring it to a 1 ohm load on the amp? Wire each pair to 2 ohms or wire each pair to 4 ohms?

bring both speaker wires out of the box and wire them together at the amp

pretty much each pair of subs will be wired down to 2 ohm and parallel for a 1 ohm load on the amp.
