What would you prefer: two z1's or a z2lv?

z1:

1 x 3000W @ 1 ohm (14.4V)

1 x 5000W @ 1 ohm (16V)

Efficiency: <85%

Bench tested by Peter.T from Soundpressure.com (Sweden):

12 Volts:

4.6 ohms = 2279W

2.3 ohms = 3405W

1.15 ohms = 4188W

14,4 Volts:

4.6 ohms = 3042W

2.3 ohms = 4461W

1.15 ohms = 5358W

z2:

1 x 6000W @ 1 ohm (14.4V - 1% THD)

Efficiency: <74%

12.5 Volts:

4.6 ohms = 2045W

2.3 ohms = 3260W

1.15 ohms = 3561W* 14,4 Volts:

4.6 ohms = 2975W

2.3 ohms = 4377W

1.15 ohms = 5248W 17,5 Volts:

4.6 ohms = 3962W

2.3 ohms = 6503W

1.15 ohms = 7947W

those specs are old, so old that those amps are not even being made no more.

The specs look like the first gen dd Z1 and Z2.

Then the Z1a came out, and replaced the z2 and z1.

Now there is a Z2 lv and hv (low volt, high volt). these amps take over the older Z1a's

Z2LV hands down. The Z1's likes to blow up unless they're Z1a's but even then you're talking old gear vs new gear.
