raytard
ib is infinite baffle, no box. think of throwing a sub in your rear deck, or cutting it into the side of a boat, or something similar. Usually a stiff ish spider and low power handeling. Dr. Johnson
If you had a four door sedan like a Toyota Camry you would be able to seal off the trunk and put the subs either behind the seat or preferably in the rear deck. You basically use the trunk as the box.
BITLD
isn't that also an enclosure?what if i put it on the trunk where the spare tire goes? A free-air system consists of woofers mounted to a board attached to the rear shelf or placed in the boot against the rear seat. The boot of the car acts as an enclosure which houses the subwoofer and isolates sound from the back of the speaker, solving the sound cancellation problem of subs without an enclosure. Free-air systems save space and have flat frequency response. The lack of a box makes them more convenient to install, but their power handling levels are usually much lower than their boxed counterparts.
