Neo_frog
Ever since I put in my new air filter, my engine has thrown out two codes. I installed it about a year ago and have since lost the stock filter *slaps forehead*. I'm throwing P0135 and P1193. I don't know how to fix them! Replacing the O2 sensor should have gotten rid of P0135 and replacing the Intake Temp Sensor should have killed the other one... I can't pass emissions or get plates now and I can't find any more answers. Does anybody have ALLDATA or something of the sort to give me a hand here??? 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L DOHC Thanks guys. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? Stephen
how about the wires to the sensors? on my car its common for the wires to have a break at the IAT sensor and the car will turn tracion control off and shift really rough. Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. As far as wires to the sensors, they seem to be alright. I haven't followed them out from there though. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? ptcary
Neo, Here is some info that I found over at the Crew... did you buy a new IAT or put the old one back in? I'll do some research on the other code. 1193: P1193-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH When Monitored and Set Condition: P1193-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH When Monitored: With the ignition on and the engine running. toytrkdrvr
The most common reason to see the IAT code is you might have left the sensor unplugged when you did the air filter. Circuit high is an open in the circuit or unplugged completely. As far as the O2 code. Its usually the O2 itself. Next common problem is an open on the circuit, usually rodents eating through the wiring. You replaced parts, did you clear the codes and then retest for smog? Are your OBD monitors run? That would cause a failure too. I can help later, if you still need it. ASE Master Tech and Chrysler Master Electrical Technician for too long. I did the On/Forward/Reverse/Off(x4) method and then the ACC/On(x4) and the codes appeared on the odometer. I was under the impression that was an attempt to reset the codes. It didn't work though. I replaced the O2 sensor (didn't check the harness) and I just put my old IAT back in... It might be broken though.. I'll check tonight when I get off work. I should have more answers tomorrow! Thanks a lot for the help this saves me so much money. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? No the "key dance" will only display the codes, NOT clear them. To clear them, you would have to disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes. I was gonna say, any chance the old sensor has been laying around out of the car for a long time and is no good, maybe a new one would help. I'll keep looking for more info and post any more info that I can find. I think I remember seeing that you had a second battery where the airbox used to be??? I guess you had no chioce but to run one of those open air filters. PT's don't like the heat that those things are exposed to. Airaid is the best intake for a PT, or you can use a factory PT Turbo airbox lid (smaller). Did you keep the factory IAT with the intake? In the second build, I put the breakers in there instead. And I left the original IAT on the car and put it into the new filter. I'm gonna try to buy a new one today. Maybe warranty my O2 again and check all my wires. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions?
