audiofanaticz Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Your gonna have to pay up. You must get the expensive harness(s) in order to keep your onstar, not to mention if you dont get the kit, your car may not run right, kick random codes etc since its all tied together. In most cases using the steering wheel controls really matters on if the head unit supports it. You left no info about your ride (year, stock sound system options), so Im not 100% sure which kit you will need, but its one of these proboly. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9414_S...+-+GM21SRB.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3776_S...CGMOS2B11B.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12910_...MOS-LAN-01.html

violent b Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 well if I have to spend that much on wires then I must, its an 02 buick rendezvous with non-bose system and it has onstar. thanks for the help a basic chime interface like the Metra GMRC-01 will be fine. you will loose Onstar but it doesn't sound like that will matter. you could get away with just a basic wire harness but you will loose the door chimes, and any other warning chimes.
