HHR Ed
Your mean Watts Divided by Voltage,I did a rough calculation and got this 2000w @ 14.4V Will Draw 138.88A @ 1ohm 1000w @ 14.4V Will Draw 69.4A @ 2 Ohms good rough numbers for an example. But only true in a prefect world with a 100% efficient amp. Most good amps will be 80-90% efficient, tops. then you measure your voltage drop when playing. So if an 85% efficient amp does 2000w on a 14.4v source that drops to 13.8v (example). It would have to draw about 175A or so. Boon
Efficiency of an amp plummets as you load it down. An amp at 1 ohm will draw lots more than twice the current it does at 2 ohms, assuming it makes twice the output power at 1 ohm. Quote 10.x volts fo' life! raytard
boon=100% correct go by wattage for a rough estimate of draw if you know your voltage, the resistance doesnt really matter as far as computing draw, but it will drop your effeciency...ive seen alot of amps do like 95%effecient@8ohm and 65%effecient@1ohm, to give you an idea of the difference Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

Chode69
forgot about the law, so that means resistance doesn't matter? in this case you go by at what the wattage no mater the resistance...if its putting out 400 watts at 1 ohm or 400 watts at 4 ohm doesnt matter what ohm laod its putting out that much power Quote NoFearX18 said: Nick will bang just about anything.....LMAO....pun intended On 4/13/2010 at 9:51 AM, meade916 said: i was like DAMN, Chode is hardcore! he makes james look like a friendly person LOL! trainman0978 said: I dont know who is worse with the buttholes Chode or Big P...
