newls1 Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 OK, this issue may all be in my head, but maybe NOT! Here is my issue at hand: I have 4 items branching off my remote turn on "BLUE" wire from the back of my head deck. They are ; 1. Stinger voltage guage 2. US Amps MD3D 3. MTX Thunder mid bass amp 4. 8v line out put converter Before, I had JUST the US Amps MD3D on the "remote" turn on lead, and all was great, however over the last 2 weeks, I added the other 3 items to this lead, and it just seem like my BASS doesnt hit as hard as it did. Could The remote turn on having "maybe" less voltage by the time it hits my MD3D amp cause this issue. I had to raise the gain slightly to compensate this, and I hate raising the gain, as this is simply just covering up the problem. What voltage should the remote turn on lead carry? I have a DMM infront of me, and would like to know what it should read. Should I be doing the relay mod??? Thanks for any help you can give me. I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
newls1 Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 anyone, please? I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
bobonit Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 anyone, please? I don't think that 4 devices would overload the Remote Turn On circuit. When you listen to the stereo, what voltage is your Stinger Voltage Gauge reading? I'm wondering if when you added the MTX Amp you are getting voltage drop. Or watch the voltage with the DMM across the battery terminals which will check the same thing. 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log
Guest Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 remote turnon should read something like 12-14v. thats all i know lol

My stinger voltage meter is reading voltage from the last battery in my bank, and is the battery that all my amps are hooked up to. Slamming pretty hard, my voltage is hovering at 14.0-14.3. Cruising around with bass knob at 20%ish im at 14.5-14.8 and on very cold days, im slamming at 14.5-14.8 and criusing @ 15.0-15.2 I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

I honestly don't think it has to do with your remote turn on circuit, but to make sure, you can check your head units documentation and see what the max current on that lead is, usually between 250ma and 500ma and your devices should be only around 20ma so you should be well under that. You could try removing the other equipment to see if that changes anything. If you see it go back to the way it was, then just hook up the other equipment one at a time to see what is causing it. 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log
newls1 Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 thanks man, appreciate your input. For shits and giggles, I just put my DMM on the remote turn on for my amp, and it reads 14.56v (truck on of course), and my other amp is 14.26v, so I guess all is normal.
