B Slaps Posted December 29, 2008 Report Share Posted December 29, 2008 hope someone can give me a few ideas, and or something that has worked on their car which is the same. i just fabricated a bracket for my kick down and my throttle cable. im having a problem with the throttle cable and the pedal not pulling the throttle on the carb fully open. the pedal i have used to work but for some reason it ends up slipping or something so that the carb dosent open up all the way. does anyone here have a 62-67 nova that they have converted to a v8 if so my question i have is what throttle do you use/ have aftermarket and or stock. B Slaps Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 29, 2008 I would look to see is you can make a piece to pull the cable up higher so it looks like the pedal is pulling the cable equal to the opening of the throttle the only problem with this is that the pedal is a LOKAR after market pedal supposed to be for this vehicle and its not working too good for the second time. im just looking for something different. a new idea. one of my old buddies told me he put a different type of pedal assembly off of a 70 something cadillac or impala i forget. just looking for new ideas. im not happy with this pedal and am not trying to have problems in the future. savageracer Posted December 29, 2008 Report Share Posted December 29, 2008 It could be the bracket that hold the cable at the carb and most carbs have different mounting holes for the cable end.Maybe try a different hole.If you see the motor in my avatar it took 2 weeks to get the carbs to open corectly with the lokar cable. I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
