wL<3bass Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Read it all or don't reply and please know what your talking about......also my price range is kind of limited (I'm 17 and work part-time) So I have two sets of PG RSDs and I was gonna put them in the 97 4 door blazer....well the fronts went in no problems.....but the rear doors are .75" too shallow to mount....so I thought no biggy I'll get my dremel and do a little trimming....well I thought I better check to make sure I'm not hitting anything important while cutting.....so I look and the window regualtor track is mounted to the piece of sheet metal in the way.... :censored: so I know there is no way a single set of RSDs is gonna keep up by any means with 2 15s...... So my first thought was make some MDF spacer rings to get the mounting depth right....but the woofers with be against the door panel then.....so basically my only choice is to either keep the RSDs and leave the ones in my doors and put the other set in the kick....but that won't work b/c the kick is two large to fit with both of my size 15 shoes....so basically I'm looking for either one KILLER 6.5" or a 3 way setup....I dont wanna piece it together....and I like passive crossovers....this will all be ran off a T8004. So here are my first ideas: Get a set of Rockford FNQ 3 ways (6.75" woofer, 4" mid, 1.1" tweet) and bridge my T8004 @ 4ohms (~300wrms per side) for the set......and my 2nd thought was a set of RE XXX 6.5" bridged off my T8004 at 2ohm (~600wrms per side) but I don't think they will take that kinda power for long.....so I would have to clamp it. roscoe1129 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 How are your fabrication skills?? if you were gonna make kicks maybe you could do a sweet pair of 4" ers in the a pillers?? Or you could cut your door panel where the speaker would fit and fab up some new custom grills that would pop in using the grill frame and the cup and balls that you can get from parts express or some of the sweet magnets steve used in the hoopty for the trim panels?? wL<3bass Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) How are your fabrication skills?? if you were gonna make kicks maybe you could do a sweet pair of 4" ers in the a pillers?? That was kinda of the plan.... 6.5 in the factory door location, 4in in the dash or a-pillar and tweet either low in the door or is the a-pillar or dash lol....only reason the tweet may go in the door is b/c I already cut the hole in the door for the tweet..... :censored: edit: Nothing ever goes right for me.....in anything... I may have to fab up some custom black mesh ones and roll them and epoxy them to the door panel and modify my front doors a lil bit to house a 6.5, a 4", and a tweet lol. edit: heres the front panel Edited January 9, 2009 by wL<3bass Quote Vehicle: 1997 S10 Blazer 4dr 4X4 Exterior: Rear End Bagged, Black Grill, Lifted 2" Amplifiers: Rockford Fosgate T8004 & T10001bd Batteries: 2 Stinger SPV35, Kinetik HC2400 Electrical: Big 3, DC Power 290amp Alternator w/ MLA at 15.5v Enclosure: 4.2 ft³ @ 33Hz 84sq.in. of port (20sq.in. per cube) Headunit: Eclipse CD3200 w/ 80G iPod Mids/Highs: Rockford T152s (a-pillars), Rockford T162s (doors) Subwoofers: 1 15" Fi BL Fully Loaded Wire: All 1/0g Kicker Hyperflex My YouTube Videos My Fiberglass A-Pillar Build My "Seamless" Looking Box Build My DD1508 T-Line Bandpass Build "Seamless" w/ Acrylic Windows (for '05 TrailBlazer) My Stealth 8" Fiberglass Build (for '05 TrailBlazer) My Build For A Friend's '08 Cobalt 15" BL Sealed Off From The Trunk My feedback/references...
