hawkins6423 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I am doing a full system for my good friend. He has a 2006 Ford Expedition King Ranch... and he wants a badass setup. He really likes the kicker L7 15" even though I tried to persuade him to get some nightshades or some BTLs... but it is what it is, it will still be crazy. The sundown 3000d will be running at .6777 ohms pushing three kicker L7 15" in a 18 cu ft. box tuned to 31hz. The sundown 100.4 will be powering four CDT HD series 6.5's and eight tweeters (via xovers) The sundown 125.2 will be powering 8 CDT GOLD 4" mids. Its a pretty big install considering hes getting a new alternator, 3 batteries, all new wiring etc etc... Oh btw I have a CNC router.. =) For anybody that doesn't know what that is... I just take a sheet of MDF and lay it on the machine... then design the box on a CAD program, and it cuts it out for me.. anything from drill holes to custom engraving. I'll put a video up of it cutting later on. And I also have a bed liner machine at the shop (high pressure poly) But I've been working on the box for about 2 weeks and this is my progress. Any suggestions highly welcomed! To start I made the double layer wood frame This will be my first time fiberglassin.. TAP plastics was recommended.. Fucking expensive compared to home depot LOL
hawkins6423 Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 I ordered enough mat to make a boat haha Super flared ports =) Kerf cuts I ran out of clamps haha Fiberglassin the inside of the box. before spraying in bedliner. Sprayed in about 10 layers of High pressure polyurithane. That stuff you cannot break ever. Thats an example of what you can do with a CNC machine. Looks pretty sweet when its all done.

This is what it looks like right now.. its still dryin down here in houston its like 40 degrees out but the lamp helps out.. I work on it everyday for a few hours so I should have some more updates soon. And suggestions/comments appreciated =)
